I met Sharon (Sharon Yvonne Ziegler) when we were both seven (we attended catechism together at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Mill Valley). I was always amazed at her very frizzy home permanents.  I didn't become acquainted with her again until we both went to Marin Catholic, and especially when a big group of Mill Valley kids began hanging around together.  Those were fun days not to be forgotten. The Ziegler house was kind of a hang-out for all of us teenagers (many of our parents were fairly conservative and the Zieglers were much less so).  Don't get me wrong, we knew when to draw the line, but I must admit things were more relaxed there.

As teenagers, Sharon, Barbara and Kathy Byrne and I had great fun camping on the Stanislaus River where the Zieglers held a mining right. After I married Doug, and Sharon married her first husband, all of our children carried on the tradition of fun on the Stanislaus.  That all ended when the Malones Dam was built.

Over the years, Sharon and I kept contact and would see each other on holidays.  Christmases with the Ziegler clan was always joyful and sometimes crazy!

In Sharon's later life, her daughter, Lerae was a most wonderful and faithful support.  She was very lucky to have such care.  Sharon was also very close to Lerae's daughter, Alexandria.  They will miss her terribly but realize she is now at peace and not suffering any longer.

Sincerely,

Judith Beckstrand Ziegler, Sharon's Sister-in-Law

Sharon and I dated during our senior year at MC.  She was a free spirit and, being a bit of a rebel, I embraced that.  She broke up with me the evening we graduated and she seemed to have her life plan charted, and it didn't include me.  But that was Sharon.  To many she was quiet and unassuming, but in reality she knew her mind and followed it.

20 years later we reconnected at our 20th reunion.  She'd been through a lot, but wasn't beaten down by it.  Another 20 years went by and we reconnected again, but she was definitely further down the path of life than she had planned at this point.  Then she just stopped communicating.  I'm sure it was because of her personal battle with cancer and she wanted to go it alone as she did with most of her major decisions in life.  She will be missed.

So very sorry to hear of Sharon's death. I remember Sharon fondly from Tam Valley and our days at Marin Catholic.

Her long battle is over. My sympathies go out to her family.

 Sincerely,

 Gerry

I was terribly saddened to learn of the passing of Sharon.  We first met at MC & became good friends.  She was so funny and we had so much fun together.  Unfortunately we lost contact over the years but we did connect recently when the class reunion was being put together.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Sharon's family and friends.

Gail
