Sorry to hear about Suzie. Looks like she had a full life. Always sorry to hear when someone I know passes away.  She set up a lunch for a group of us before the reunion. It was a good way to catch up.

She is at peace.

Suzie & I reconnected prior to to the 50th Reunion and we shared so many great high school memories.

Our "coffee dates" were very special.  She had a very unusual life.  Suzie was always Suzie and lived her life in her own special way.

I feel fortunate to have known her.

She is now at peace.

Luv,

Tom

Those of us who attended St. Anselm’s remember the child Suzie: wiry, lively, wacky sense of humor and earnest Girl Scout.

I got to know the adult Suzie just two years ago when she wrote me via the class web page. She enjoyed writing, sending me long emails, and getting impatient when I didn’t answer immediately. She loved animals and gardening. She even sent me garden catalogues, indicating her recent plant purchases. Suzie had an amazing memory, perhaps embellished a bit by her love for a good story.

Suzie suffered poor health for many years. Her long-time friend and apartment mate, Brian, was there to help her through rough times. He told me on the phone, “She was the best friend I ever had.” What better eulogy.

Hey Suzie-

So Heaven couldn’t wait ! -

and you became a well-traveled girl of many, many  words-

read it all- watched it all go by- what a ride-

I'll let the Beach Boys, the Everly Brothers, Frank and Groucho speak for you-

“thanks for the memories”-

Suzie contacted me a number of years ago and we connected via this wonderful website - thanks Joe!. Suzie was a "maverick, " and always supported the underdog. She had a huge heart for the underserved, and donated much of her wealth to charities. She was very interested in the non-profit I am involved with that provides a "hand up" for the homeless and working poor. She was compassionate and loving and will be missed.

Thank you Suzie for caring about those who have no voice.

Love, Nancy

It is very sad to hear about Suzanne's passing.  She had contacted me before our 50th Reunion through this fabulous MC website.  She told me that she always wanted to help me find out more about my Jansoone side of the family. My Father and his parents came here from Belgium, leaving most of their family behind.  So she did just that and about 2 years ago she did find a family member.  Since then I have met through Skype, Facebook and email several more relatives.  It has been one of my most treasured gifts that I have received in my life and I will always be grateful and so appreciative to Suzanne for her time and efforts to connect me with the Jansoone's in Belgium.  Two of my cousins have actually visited me here and are coming again this year.  Such a blessing.  She also arranged a lunch in San Rafael for a few of us before the 50th.  Suzanne certainly had quite a life and lived it to the fullest.  May she rest in peace.  Suzanne and her family are in my prayers.

As many of you know, Suzie was a big pain in my side during the development of our website.  But I knew her heart was in the right place.  She loved researching for our "missing" classmates, and was quite successful at it. In the end, many of those she located attended the reunion for the first time.  For that, I am greatful.

Last year on Suzie's 69th birthday, I sent this her this message:

Happy Birthday! We're probably at the age when it's getting hard to remember what the fuss is all about. But never beyond wishing you well. Hope you have a good day. Take care.

Her reply surprised me, as I'm sure it will you:

Getting hard to remember what?? ... But this greeting was the real surprise topper of my day and soo thoughtful! I had been really wanting to go to the 2015 reunion but, since your fabe Reunion weekend, the enthusiasm died down, people went their ways and I had been distanced from them...except by Suzanne in Chile, ha-ha.

I did have a great day with families and friends because I'll be dead before I'm 70...but your greetings made this one the best!!

Fondly, Suzie
