It was with sadness today that we learned of Jan's passing. Her invitation was returned with "deceased" stamped on it. After a little research, and with the kind help of a lady named Shirley from the small town newspaper in Jan's town, we found out that she had passed away in December of '09.  Little was said in her obit as you can see. So I would like to say that I did not know Jan well. I do remember her as a quiet person with a dry sense of humor and good in sports. I hope someone that knew her well can fill in some nice thoughts about and for Jan.  Be in peace, Jan.

I AM ALSO FROM MILL VALLEY AND WENT TO SCHOOL WITH JAN.  SHE WAS VERY ACTIVE IN SPORTS AS MELODIE SAID.  IN SIX GRADE WE HAD 10 INTERMURAL BASEBALL TEAMS, JAN WAS ALWAYS THE FIRST GIRL PICKED (BEFORE A LOT OF THE BOYS) I WAS USUALLY THE SECOND AND CHRISTINA HYATT WAS THIRD.

JAN WAS A LOT OF FUN TO BE WITH AND IN GRAMMER SCHOOL SHE HAD GREAT "BOY AND GIRL" PARTIES.

I WAS VERY SORRY TO HEAR OF HER PASSING.

I spent last night at the 50th class reunion at Tamalpais High School. I saw many pictures of Jan in grammar school class pictures, and in every one of the photos she had her big happy smile. I think she had a very happy childhood in Mill Valley. It is so sad to know that she is no longer with us.

Jan and I had some of the same classes and when we would the seating would be Helms-Iverson and we got in trouble cracking each other up.  She had a great sense of humor.  We did have P.E. together more than twice and I know she was a GAA rep.  She was fantastic in sports, especially over upper classmen.  I thot she was the future Mrs. Rombach (I never learned how to spell her last name and she's not in the yearbook.)

We used to ride the afternoon bus to Mill Valley and she'd get a group going with her pranks one time putting her gym socks under her blouse and it makes me smile now at the remembered image.  Hysterical then but not so funny now.  Mixed with others on that afternoon bus it was quite the ride from Greenbrae to Sausalito to Fairfax with Dona Sutherland and "Pooch".  Somehow some of our antics were exposed in our school bus and we couldn't figure it out until I observed June Chisholm who was the Wandering Wildcat just observing us and laughing but never parttaking in the funny.

Jan is in our Senior yearbook and she says she "likes farmers from Iowa" and "Jack O' Diamonds".  She dislikes "being frustrated."

Poor Jan.  She is missed.
